Abstract:
[Objective]To reveal the change of Rap1GAP protein expression in cervical carcinoma and its relationship to HPV infection.[Methods]HPV and the expression of Rap1GAP protein in 20 samples of normal cervix and 20 samples of cervical carcinoma were detected by immunohistochemistry.[Results]The HPV infection rate was 75% in cervical carcinoma, higher than that of 20% in normal cervix (P<0.05).The positive and weak positive expression rates of Rap1GAP protein were 15% and 15% in cervical carcinoma, significantly lower than those of 55% (P<0.05) and 45% (P<0.05) in normal cervix tissues. In cervical carcinoma, deletion rate of Rap1GAP protein expression in HPV-positive samples was 80%,significantly higher than that of 40% in HPV-negative (P<0.05)and there was a positive correlation between the deletion of Rap1GAP protein and HPV infection (r=0.553,P<0.05).[Conclusion]Expression of Rap1GAP protein is down-regulated or deleted in cervical cancer and it has a positive correlation with HPV infection, implying that there is a relationship among HPV infection, Rap1GAP protein expression deletion and cervical cancer.
