唾液酸化修饰属于一种重要的糖基化修饰,不仅与生物体生长发育密切相关,还直接或间接地影响肿瘤的生物学行为。唾液酰基转移酶介导唾液酸化反应,将供体唾液酸连接到糖蛋白或者糖脂的末端。现已知的唾液酰基转移酶有四大家族,它们分别是ST3GalI-VI,ST6GalI-II,ST6GalNAcI-VI和ST8SiaI-VI。在许多肿瘤中唾液酰基转移酶的表达量和唾液酸结构均发生改变,并影响肿瘤细胞增殖、转移、血管形成、免疫逃逸等生物学行为。本文对α-2,8唾液酰基转移酶(ST8Sia)的功能及其在不同肿瘤发生发展的机制作一综述。 |

Sialylation modification is an important glycosylation modification, which not only participates in many physiological functions such as cell recognition and signal transduction, but also directly or indirectly affects the biological behavior of tumors. Sialyltransferases mediate the sialylation reaction, linking the donor sialic acid to the end of the glycoprotein or glycolipid. There are four major families of known sialyltransferases, which are ST3GalI-VI, ST6GalI-II, ST6GalNAcI-VI and ST8SiaI-VI. Expression levels of sialyltransferase and sialic acid structure are altered in many tumors, and affect biological behaviors such as tumor cell proliferation, metastasis, angiogenesis, and immune escape. This article reviews the functions of the α-2,8 sialyltransferase (ST8Sia) and explores its expression in different tumors and the mechanisms involved in tumorigenesis. |
