Abstract:
Objective To probe a new method for treating abruption of lower tibiofibular ligament union, and analyze the clinical effects. Methods A total of 8 patients with abruption of lower tibiofibular ligament union and lateral malleolus fracture were selected between January008 and January011,with an average age of4 years.First of all,the laternal malleolus fracture was reset and fixed with anatomical plate in all patients. After lower tibiofibular ligament unions injury was confirmed,Retro Buttons were used to fix it.Non weight-bearing exercise began as soon as possible post operation.Postoperative follow-up and therapeutic evaluation were carried out by Baird-Jackson evaluate system. Results A total of 8 patients were followed-up for months to4 months, with an average5 months.Seven patients were excellent and one patient was good.None of them suffered with screw cutout, rupture, losing effectiveness and wound infection. Conclusion As a new method,Retro Button is simple and safe with less complications, and has extensive clinical value.
