Abstract:

[Abstract] Objective To explore the efficiency of trabeculectomy and FP-7Ahmed glaucoma drainage implanted in patients suffered complicated glaucoma. Methods 55 patients (55 eyes) with complicated glaucoma from Jan 2010 to Jan 2013 in the third people hospital of Dalian were analyzed retrospectively. Among 70 eyes, 36 eyes were treated with FP-7Ahmed glaucoma drainage implant (group A) and 34 eyes were treated with trabeculectomy (group B). The last follow-up time was 2 year after surge. The postoperative visual acuity, intraocular pressure and success rate were analyzed. Results The ratio of improved visual acuity in group A was significantly higher than that of group B (χ 2= 2.267,P<0.05). Compared with that before operation, intraocular pressure both in group A and group B significantly decreased, but the average of intraocular pressure in group A was lower than that of group B during the long term follow up (t=1.954,P<0.05). Sucess and fail rate was statistical difference between group A and group B. Conclusion Glaucoma drainage implant is worth clinical application for improving visual acuity. Compared with trabeculectomy,glaucoma drainage implant can control intraocular pressure better and can increase success rate of operation.
