The molecular mechanisms of axonal regeneration after nerve injury is the hot spot of current research, and the investigation of axonal regeneration-associated genes has provided an important basis of molecular biology for mechanisms of axonal regeneration. Regeneration-associated genes as GAP-43, BDNF, SPRR1A and Reg-2 reviewed in this article have been identified to participate and regulate the process of axonal regeneration. The mechanisms of their action are discussed. |
