Abstract: |
Vitamin D (VitD) is a group of steroid derivatives with a wide range of biological actions. VitD acts through its receptor (VDR). Most tissues and cells in the body have VDR. The phenomenon of low or no reaction to normal and even pharmacological dosages of vitamin D or 1, 25 (OH)2D is called vitamin D resistance. The point mutation of VDR gene is one of the causes of vitamin D resistance, which has extensive affects on human body functions. |
