Abstract: |
[Objective] To review MSCT imaging features of 35 cases of Warthin tumor in parotid gland and explore its diagnostic value. [Methods] Thirty-five patients with pathologically confirmed Warthin tumor underwent preoperative MSCT plain scan and dual-phase contrast scan. The imaging characteristics analysis included the number, position, size, density and the pattern of the enhancement of the focus. [Results] In all the 35 cases, 28 cases were solitary lesions and 7 cases were multiple lesions (in which, 5 cases were bilateral lesions). Most solitary lesions located in the inferior of the parotid gland, but multiple lesions located in the parotid gland widely. 24 lesions were cystic change. The tumors showed isodense nodule on CT plain-scan. After contrast administration, the solid component of the lesions showed marked enhancement in the arterial phase and it showed slight enhancement in the venous phase. [Conclusions] Warthin tumors showed heterogeneous isodense nodule on MSCT plain-scan, which showed a pattern of marked enhancement in arterial phase with characteristic cystic areas. Combined with clinical features, MSCT has an important diagnostic value in Warthin tumors. |
