Abstract: |
[Objective] To analyze the significance of HPV and EBV infections in the cervical carcinogenesis. [Methods] The expressions of HPV and EBV were examined by immunohistochemistry in 20 normal cervical tissues and 50 cervical carcinoma tissues.[Results] The positive expression rates of HPV and EBV proteins in cervical carcinoma (44.00% and 52.00%) were significantly higher than those in normal cervical tissues (5.00% and 10.00%)(P<0.05), the combined infection rate of them was 18.00%(9/50). The positive expression rates of HPV in the carcinoma of patients with the non-amenorrhea (56.25%) was significantly higher than that with the amenorrhea (28.56%) (P<0.05). The rates of HPV in histological grade 1, 2 and 3 were 20.00%, 40.62% and 87.50% respectively (P<0.05), the rates in tumor stage 1 and 2 were 26.66% and 85.71%, respectively (P<0.05), and the rates with lymph nodes-metastasis and without were 77.77% and 23.07% (P<0.01). The positive expression rates of EBV in the carcinomas of patents with the non-amenorrhea (65.62%) was significantly higher than that with the amenorrhea (27.78%) (P<0.05). The rates of EBV in histological grade 1, 2 and 3 were 90%, 43.75% and 37.50% respectively (P<0.05), the rates in tumor stage 1 and 2 were 86.66% and 28.57%, respectively (P<0.05), and the rates with lymph nodes-metastasis and without were 44.44% and 84.61% (P<0.01). [Conclusion] There are high incidences of HPV and EBV infection in the cervical carcinomas and the infections would play a role in the development of the cervical carcinoma. |
