Abstract:
[Objective]To compare the personality characteristics, psychosocial factor, vascular risk factor in different type of late life depression.[Methods]Late life depression subjects were grouped by diagnosis averagely into three clinical groups:recurrent geriatric depression (RGD),late onset depression (LOD) and secondary geriatric depression (SGD).Every group had thirty patients. The following neuropsychological tasks were used to assess the all subjects:Eysenck Personality Questionnaires (EPQ),Life Event Scale (LES),Social Support Rating Scale (SSRS),Screening the main vascular risk factor according to Framingham Risk Score.[Results]The neurotic trait (N) score of RGD group was the highest (P<0.05).The negative life events and healthy factor effects of SGD group were more greatly than the other groups (P<0.05).The variation of the vascular risk factors according to Framingham Risk Score existed within the groups. The LOD group had higher score than the other groups (P<0.05).[Conclusion]The variation is between different types of late life depression.
