Abstract:
[Objective]To study the expression of P2X3 receptors in rat dental pulp and periodental ligament, and the expression change at early stage during experimental tooth movement.[Methods]Immunohistochemistry was used to observe the expression anddistribution of P2X3 receptors in rat dental pulp and periodental ligament.[Results]In pulp P2X3 receptors were mainly distributed in the odontoblast cell layer and were extending toward dentin layer;and in periodental membrane P2X3 receptors were mainly distributed in the central and apical root area, keeping away from the cementum. The expression of P2X3 receptors in dental pulp was stronger than that in periodontal ligament, which increased at early stage during experimental tooth movement.[Conclusion]P2X3 receptors express in rat dental pulp and periodontal ligament, and express highly at early stage during experimental tooth movement, which may play a role during early pain information transmission.
